Rooted in Japanese Buddhist tradition, the Kurikara Dragon is a powerful emblem of unwavering resolve, spiritual strength, and the pursuit of mastery.
Known as Kurikara Ryūō, the Dragon King Kurikara is a manifestation of Fudō Myōō, the Immovable Wisdom King. Depicted coiled around a sacred sword "The Sword of Wisdom", the dragon symbolizes the triumph of wisdom over ignorance and the strength required to overcome adversity.
At the heart of the design lies the Kurikara sword, a symbol of clarity, discipline, and the cutting away of weakness. The upright blade cuts through illusion, ignorance, greed, and anger. Its edge represents more than physical technique: it is a reminder to sharpen the mind, master the ego, and act with purpose.
For the practitioner of Japanese martial arts and swordsmanship, the image carries a timeless message. Strength without control is incomplete. Technique without discipline is empty. True mastery is forged through perseverance, humility, focus, and respect.
The dragon embodies the spirit that drives us forward. The sword represents the path we choose to follow. Together, they express the warrior's lifelong pursuit of self-mastery — a commitment to refining not only one's technique, but also one's character.
The colours and material of the threads are durable enough to be washed with detergent. Unfortunately, washing in a washing machine poses other risks, such as the embroidery threads can get caught on a zipper or button on the jacket or garment they are placed on and can stretch or tear. Therefore, we recommend washing by hand.
Our products are made to order, requiring 5–7 days for crafting before shipment.
All products are handmade and shipped from Sofia, Bulgaria (EU).
